Richie10 345
Reading The Working Lurcher, they were saying how large lurchers killed foxes before the ban. The lurcher would crush the rib cage or dislocate the neck with one shake, so quick death. It also points out that with deer it would pull them down in which they break their necks in the fall or take out the throat, also a quick death. Did this happen on the majority of occasions in pre ban times? Cheers. Quote Link to post
lurchers 3,000
may be with the foxes if the dog has a neck hold but not with the deer mate, unless its just how the deer fell to snapits neck Quote Link to post
Richie10 345
Thanks. So they mainly were to capture and hold the larger game until they were dispatched by the dogs owner. OK makes sense. The book made it sound easier. Quote Link to post
