dai dog 11
hi this is my first post, i registered here especially to ask you guys a question,i have a 12 month lurcher bitch, she is deerhound, ghoundxwhippet, ghound to a 5/8 ghound,2/8 pointer,1/8 collie! i baught her as a pup for lamping as i allready have a fereting dog, ive never walked her where theres scent, she comes to me, retrieves when she feels like! she has been out 4 times, the first time she caught well and is super keen, but she came back! the last time we went out she was fine if she caught, but if she missed she would be gone ignoring my calls! after a couple of mins shed return with tail wagging! anyones view on this subject would be great because i can hardly sleep Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
Sounds just like a typical youngster mate. Mine used to do that until she twigged what the lamp was for Quote Link to post

Kye 77
If i was you mate, i would get a 100% solid recall in the day...then do the night time thing...if you keep calling her when she wont come, you are teaching her to NOT come back...i would keep her a little hungry, and get some rewards to her...what ever you do, DONT shine the lamp around the field...she will be 60 yards away with her nose to the floor, you will shine the beam, and there will be a rabbit infront of her...she could run it and then thats teaching her to run rabbits away from you...she will love running rabbits, so she is being rewarded for being an arse...it will come mate..just get that recall good!..all the best mate Kye,..
