dave1372 83
Whilst applying for a variation for 22-250 I had a phonecall from a mate who knows someone getting rid of a .270 because of a messy divorce (when I say messy .....no he didn't shoot her!). So I added it to my variation. Just thought I would canvass a few opinions on peoples likes/dislikes do's/don'ts with them. Quote Link to post
danebrewer10 6
I'm not really sure, I don't actually have a full bore rifle, But i understand, they're ptetty flat shooting, with the proper bullet and shot placement can take elk, (at a pinch) they're pretty barky and have quite sharp recoil.... really a bit much for the UK, but if you were shooting mule deer in the states where they're larger then it would be just the ticket, the bullet's pretty fast so expect some jellied meat, I would prefer a larger slower bullet, like the .308 or the .338 federal.... an interesting round... but there's not a massive choice of bullets but probably enough for most people..... whippeter69 88
i live about 3 miles away from deer park and i was invited to watch the cull of a few deers and the man shooting had a .270, the obvious point of it were, Its was loud lots of damage( he was shooting the deers in the head at 100yds and there was no head left Hell of a recoil. Also i asked him if he was going to get a Moderator on it and he said that he tried but the Police would not let him have one. Quote Link to post
