help regarding FAC conditions please.

Recommended Posts

hello all,

Got a question on procedures relating to gaining permission on a new farm/land.

On my FAC it states

''the hmr rifle, mod, ammo......shall be used for vermin shooting.....on land deemed suitable by the chief of police for the area in which the land is situated....''

Closed FAC yes???

Now, when it comes to me gaining a new permission, i was told that i have to send in a letter, signed by the land owner, stating where the land is to my local firearms dept.

then they check that either

- the land has already been checked and is cleared for the safe use of the rifle of my caliber

- the land needs checking to ensure that it is safe to shoot my rifles caliber

- the land has been checked in the past and found to be unsuitable for use of my rifles caliber

Is all the above correct? - so i'm right in saying that if i was to gain permission from farmer Joe, and not notify my local farearms dept and go shooting on the land i'm in the wrong???

cheers

yes thats a closed fac only to be used on land that is cleared for that calibre

land deemed suitable by chrif constable for that area

Thought so, so i still need to notify the police of any new permissions and await thier responce?

If you are on good terms with your fld, a phone call is all thats needed to confirm land is passed or not.

if they regard you as a pest, they will ask you to put it in writing .

if its passed you need nothing else, for peace of mind and if the farmer/land owner will, get it in writing.
