BTW. Shooting squirrels in a public place is definately a No No. The public hand feed the bloody things in some parks round here! The policy re grey squirrels being culled was a response to the decline of the rd squirrel hence the 9mile radius around a red squirrel colony/pair. Clearing squirrels on public land would without doubt have to be carried out under licence. Probably a good thing i havent been in the woods on my permission for a few months, hopefully the numbers will begin to pick up soon as at the end of last year I was getting lucky if I was seeing one per trip.
