Mate it's very easy for someone to say No over the phone, So always go door to door in person, This should be done for two reasons i believe...

1} So that the landowner can see you in person and gauge your character rather than just listening to a voice on the phone......

2} You can express your wish to hunt on their lands personally, Now if they say NO after a you have explained your intent, Thank them for their tiime leave on good terms and try and leave a contact number If they wish to change their minds.....

dress casual but don't turn up in camo gear etc..... image is the first thing you are judged on weather you like it or not.......

good luck.

good advice above, also dont ask straight away for permission for everything, maybe ask if they have pidgeon problems in the barn, or rats etc, if you can get your foot in the door so to speak, and do a good job, getting return permission for all pests comes easy
