doris 6
Hi I am not familiar with air rifles so would appreciate some advise please. I am looking for an air rifle that will take out rat, squirrel and pigeon at about 30 -35 yards. FYI this is cos my vege garden got mullered last year by this mob, and also I need to feed my sons ferrets throughout the summer months whilst we put the nets away and rest the lurcher. Also if someone has a second hand rifle that will do the job I may well be intersested. Thx Quote Link to post
Guest buster321c
Any air rifle will do the job for you , its just down to personal choise . If its just for the veg garden , get a cheap Co2 or springer , you will get a decent one for anything up to £100 Quote Link to post

SEAN3513 7
as buster said a lower priced springer would be the best choice. if you get a pcp ( pre charged pnuematic) you will need some sort of charging gear, which will increase your costs. if you just starting out.........keep it simple to begin with. all the best sean Quote Link to post

SEAN3513 7
springer = break barrel gun, single shot, when the gun is cocked ( broken) it charges the cylinder with air, you insert a pellett and shoot..........then the process is repeated for further shots. pcp ( pre-charged pneumatic) = a gun that you pre charge with compressed air via a pump or divers bottle, they are avaiable in single shot and multi shot and are capable of between 50 - 500 shots per charge ( depending on the make/model of gun) as i said previously keep it simple to start with if it is for basic pest control on your own property. you can always invest more if and when you want to upgrade, but a springer will do the job you require, trouble free for many years. this is a very simple explanation, hope it helps ? all the best sean Quote Link to post
hiho 5
if you buy second hand try to get a english webley Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
springs are harder to shoot accurately but once youve mastered them a pcp is childs play. Quote Link to post
