How do? Just to introduce myself, I am a seasoned hunter 42yrs old, I have lived of the land in East susex for 3 yrs, eating rabbit for me and the dog, duck, pheasant, pigeon, fish, mushrooms, fungi, vegatation, burnning wood for fuel, wind generator for lighting, Moved back to my home town Leigh Lancashire.I am now looking for a regular rabbit shoot, my dog is 18yrs old and a retired. My gun is a silenced precharged 22 titan mpt.. My all time fav air rifle. If anybody can help me find a shoot i will be so happy again to get back into such a worthy pastime. I only shoot what i eat. but would be glad to help out in any way i can (pest control) I have a good understanding of the countryside. Thanks for reading. Cheers Ian

ahhh, leigh what a wonderfull place lol Sorry mate there aint much in the way of rabbit shootig that i know of round leigh. However there is a few farms that i havent asked at but you could also try asking and the marriot golf club, they may have a rabbit problem.

The only places i can find with rabbits are next to railway lines and ive bit told you cant shoot anywhere near them.

no problemo. how was u living of the land if you dont mind me asking? were you in an eco house or something along them lines?? o yeah, if you do manage to get some rabbitiing permission let me kno lol and visa versa.

Ive got some good permission for squirelling, maggies and the odd hare but need to wait for the squizzer population to build up a bit and the weather and my knee to get better first.

No not a eco house a static caravan no water in the corner of a farmers field in the middle of a valleyabout a mile away fom the farm, heaven. just a hop over a style and on my shoot along a tree laden river bank with fields on the other side of the trees and river for about 2miles then across a field through a wood with a pond at the other end along hedges aross 2 fields all full of wild life, because there was no street lights i used the full moon at night. The farmer used to let me know where rabbits were a problem the acrerage was massive to much to cover in 2 days. My food came from the sea, land, rivers, farmers traded veg for a duck or pheasants, rabbits ect. Have also eaten squirel not alot of meat on them so you need lots, abit like woodies,Hope the weather and yr knee gets better for you, Will let you know if i get permission for rabbit Cheers Ian

sounds like 1 heaven to me aswell, mus be hard work in winter though. sorry to say so but i think you may have made the wrong decision in returning to leigh, the nightlife emitimising at barbarellas lol. I was thinking about cooking a fwe squirells when i can get out again. Just remembered someone told me that there are a **** load of rabbits at the cemetery in leigh, (live ones not dead lol), probably worth an ask there aswell.

Cheers for that will try the cemetery, winter was hard at first untill i discovered full length long johns, and carrying gutted rabbits with yr pellet hand in the rib cage, i had a very good log burner just put a hardwood log on and close all the vents and hoped it burned all night,my dog slept on top of my bed and sometimes my girlfriend at the time. that also took the chill off, had to chip my wellys of the floor a few times though,As for returning back to leigh east susex council was onto me and i was thankfull for the very presious time i had there, all good things come to an end? with that note im of to bed, Thanks. Ian
