I am now the proud new owner of a new BSA Tactical XL and it has already claimed 3 pigeons and 1 jackdaw lol, but when out shooting the other day i noticed that it didn't seem 2 be shooting at a good power and lots of shots at pigeons it just nocked off there feathers. Can anyone tell how i can test its power? It is meant to be shooting at 11.5ftlb's

chronographing is the ONLY way.

you cannot tell if its down on power, you are probably not hitting the target (pigeon) properly.

i take it the gun is new????..........take it back to where you bought it at have it tested.

all the best

yep the gun is new and i also heard a strange ping sound when i fired that i hadn't heard before. Also when you said not hitting the pigeon properly did you mean skimming it?because that is what i thought until it happened to about 4 others

skimming them is what i meant..........have you checked your scope zero if its an all new set up it, the scope may have moved / settled/ need tightning and re-zeroing??

i would take it back mate and certainly wouldn't use it until its been tested.

bit of a bummer with a new gun....but it happens.

cheers
