Mitch 0
I have dug to big buck rabbits that wouldnt even bolt to a Hob. Some rabbits are just stubborn and think they can take there chances with the ferret. It never take long, Hob in.... about 5 minuts bloody face hob out. My small jills just leave those rabbits who bottle, i think becaise that they are in experienced to kill. And do get kicked off, I mainly only dig to Buck rabbits, anyone else notices this? All torn ears ect.... Quote Link to post
Guest RobW71
A good working ferret should stay 'till dug to I've seen a few times where a rabbit's bolted down a fresh tube they've been working on(say 15") The Ferret follows it up and gives it a good kicking, all becomes clear as to what goes on underground. Back in March I was out with the Hob, he was gone for ages, I had him on the locator moving around a smallish area so I left him to it for 3parts an hr. Still nothing bolted and he remained in the same area. With it being snowing and blowing a gail, it was time he came out. 4ft dig and all became clear, he'd fronted up a Rabbit in a tube, raked its eyes out and killed, got past, dropped into a nest, killed two more and a fourth had tried to go back up the tube, trapping the Hob in, he was giving that one a good shooin and looking like he'd done 10rds with something hard Regards Rob Quote Link to post
