COMPO 54
This part of the season is just clearing up patches that you have left/avoided or missed, so today saw me doing a few small warrens that had nothing in but the farmer was moaning about The Lads, the two polecat hobs and my dog pup after showing willing and doing the small warrens he can see from his house, then to the boundary and a large bramble patch....i used the longnet as it was still in-penetrable 4 from the brambles The locator had started to only work intermittently, so i took evreything back to teh car thinking i would call it a day, the farmer came down (as i said these were the warrens he can see from his house) anyway i started examining the locator box and discovered that the 9v battery inside the negative part of the battery had sheared off? anyway farmer offers me a new battery so i take him up to the house and he gives me two new batteries, so locator working again and a spare, i continued over the other side of the farm on a few more open warrens that i knew held last rabbit of the day was from this tree after the debate about hobs or jill's, i tried my two lads out today, and to be honest i think they worked as well if not better than the jill's and as they are easier to manage , i wont be replacing my jill's as they go ferret close ups Johnny the ferret that John my farmer friend found, they met again today as i was on Johns farm and he was impressed to see him helping out with his rabbits The youngster Boots Snowdrops in the woods, i hate these flowers.......they herald the end of ferreting The end of the day shot, 14 rabbits by 2pm with the Hobs!
