bigbailey 90
Hi all!!! Just wanted to no what everyones views were on shooting in spring and summer breeding months. I no rabbits sometimes breed all year round but obviously not so much in winter!!! I normally leave my shooting off until autumn returns as arnt much for gutting them when there are young inside and also leaves me more full grown for the pot in winter. I no on farmland they do need controlling all year round though but just thought id ask what everyone else does and there opinions so go easy!!! cheers folks Quote Link to post
The one 8,535
Still do a fair bit of lamping with the rimmy but a lot more with the air arms during the summer get closer to the half grown rabbits so dont need to use the rimmy Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
from the sportsmans point of view ( and the cheffs): dn't hunt rabbits in spring and early summer, your only ruining the sport for the future/ from the farmers point of view: kill them whilst they got young, this will be 4 rabbits killed with one shot. bigbailey 90
Cheers for the reply lads !!! yeah does depend on which way you look at it. Did a bit last summer for the farmer but couldnt really do much with the younger rabbits just used them as dog food. keeps the farmer happy though and the dog!!! Quote Link to post
ian118118 10
the meat which me and the people who i go shooting with get usally goes to the dogs and ferrets anyway. we occasionally eat some though but the dogs and ferrets eat alot (woulds fattest ferrets but some how super quick) Quote Link to post
