anagallis_arvensis 2
Getting pup in a few weeks (will be 9 weeks old) should I get it to sleep outside in the kennel from the start or get it settled in the house and then slowly get it to sleep in kennel? I am sure the dog will sleep outside so will I be storing up problems for later if I dont do it straight away? It will be coming from a breeder who has it outside at the moment but obviously with a few mates to keep it warm. My only expriance of this before was putting a puppy in the kennel with the old lab who helped it settle but this one will be on its own.

Garypco 3
If you plan to keep it outside then do so from the start.. bring into the house every day to socialise but back out at night id also suggest a heatlamp in the kennels so the sudden drop of temprature going outdoors wont affect it....its good practise as far as anypup is concerned anyhow... Guest buster321c
If its out side now then there should be no problem .
sue 1
I would put it straight outside if thats where its going to be kept ,settling it indoors first will only cause the pup to get upset again when the time comes to be kenneled, plenty of warm bedding to snuggle into and it will be fine, all the best with the new recruit

Geoff.C 0
As it will be used to sleeping close to it's litter brothers, a good idea would be a warm hot water bottle, wrapped in a towel. If it has a source of warmth for comfort, it may be less liable to howl when on it's own. Also, the actual bedding should be clear of the floor.
