whippeter69 88
These runs are all in one field next to my flight pond so the fox/s will need to be taken care of. Will snare it on the week and and will try a bit of lamping too. Heres a few pics of them with a bit of hair on them confirming they are fox runs. This one is a pig run But this one a fox Quote Link to post

woodga 170
if that badger run is on the same fence where those fox runs are you are looking for trouble , setting wires in any location where badgers are working is a no no better off taking the fox on an open trail with the snare loop set up high then if a badger walks along the run the head of the badger passes under the loop and hits his back avoiding a incidental catch , you are more likely to have an unwanted catch if you snare that fence not worth the risk imho Quote Link to post
00taz11 39
is that not what break-away snares are for woodga or am i in the wrong Edited February 19, 2009 by 00taz11 Quote Link to post

woodga 170
is that not what break-away snares are for woodga or am i in the wrong breakaways will work but when snaring on fences entanglement often occurs thus making the breakaway ineffective if the badger becomes entwined in a fence its unable to get full purchase and use its weight to burst the breakaway thats why we use them on open traill areas with no entanglement issues better not to chance the issue Quote Link to post
