deerstalker32 0
almost all the rabbits i have shot in other places have been fine. but on a fairly new permision with lots of rabbits on it i hav noticed the white bags of tape worm in with the guts up till now infected rabbits have gone to waste. what is the recomended thing to do when dealing with rabbits with worms, is it safe to just remove the white sak and enter the rabit into the food chain???????? Hi Deerstalker 32 has your new permission got sheep grazing on it? The reason i ask i have a bit of permission where on one side sheep are allowed to graze and every rabbit you shoot is full of tape-worm, On the other side no sheep,no tape-worm,atb NID. PS.Its also worth remembering that tapeworm from rabbits can be transmitted to humans. Edited February 14, 2009 by NID Quote Link to post

ade33uk 86
I believe that tape worms are more caused by fox shit than sheep shit . fox eats raw meat full of worms , then craps on the grass the rabbits eat , rabbits pick up the tape worms eggs, fox eats rabbit and the cycle starts again . feeding raw rabbit to dogs passes on the worms to the dog ,but once the rabbits cooked any worms in it are harmless to humans . although i wouldnt eat them if i found egg sack in them .
