Deker 3,491
Guys/Gals I did have a good contact for cuts etc but things change......Dowlings quote £120 for CUT, THREAD, CROWN and RE-PROOF..... now, on the face of it that seems fairly reasonable..but something at the back of my mind says I remember issues.....anyone dealt with them for this, anyone got any comment or recommend anyone to do an A1 job for all the above at the same or cheaper!! To be honest I'm not that bothered about the proof...so what about prices and service, who do you rate...????? Cheers All! Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Turner's did a good job on my 223, without proof, for £75. Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
That was actually just the threading, but I suspect with the right words in his ear Tony would do the cut/crown too, might end up at £100 though, but quality of the thread is very good - much better than the factory stuff I've seen done. (cough, RWS, cough!) Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
I would steer clear of Dowlings for anything personally. Try Neil McKillop at Mckillop Engineering Ltd Butlersland Farm, READING, RG7 2AG. Top fella to deal with. Cut, re-thread and re-proof on my 22LR was £75 iirc. 01189 333100. Cheers for that...he is only a few miles from me...I'll give him a call Monday!! Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Let me know what he says, by the sounds of things there might well be a Ruger 10/22 and a CZ 550 heading his way as well Quote Link to post
