SportingShooter 0
My loading equipment is finally on the way. It's been a struggle the last few days, between having to phone my Credit card company to tell them to let the order through, to liaising with company. I have my order sent, and it's being shipped. Looking forward to getting my hands on it now and getting some loads worked up. Keep you posted. SS P.S. Thanks to those who advised me in the right direction Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
I've just got mine First handloads tested this evening in the wind and darkness. Half inch groups or better with the 69gr Lapua through my Remington. Encouraging signs for the 40gr V-max in the CZ, good tight one-hole group for 3, and then flyers. Might be me though, I was cold by then... More testing required, but well happy with the Remington's load. Quote Link to post

The testing of the various loads will be over the Summer on the various things that crop up on the shoot Glad its worked out for you it seems. What press did you go for? The Redding Big Boss was my recommended choice. Quote Link to post

Glad I went to talk to him rather than just getting from a more mainstream shop, I'd have ended up with a single-die press, rather than the turret one I got. Lyman scales, Lee powder dispenser thing (I will remember the terms one day!!), seems to work well. Quote Link to post

Good Stuff, I'll be loading one calibre at a time so the Turret wasn't really needed for me, the Single Stage will do me fine. I have a Lyman Powder Trickler, SR Digital Scales, Redding Dies, SR Case Tumbler, there are more things but I can't remember them! Quote Link to post

SportingShooter 0
Sounds like you went to town with the kit Look forward to reading how it turns out Well it was on the advice of a certain member who likes spending money on reloading, so I asked the fatal question of what do I need? And I went along with what was on the list I just hope I can use it to good effect! I'll look forward to your results too, both as green as each other Quote Link to post

Daieye68 1
Hi guys looking to reload for my 22/250 shortly can you give me a rough idea of price to get started Thanks Dai Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Hi guys looking to reload for my 22/250 shortly can you give me a rough idea of price to get started Thanks Dai Depends on what sort of equipment you buy, the press ordinarily being one of the most expensive items. If you are talking just equipment and not Bullet Heads, Primers etc, then be looking at the £300 mark. More depending on the press SS Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
Right guy's here's a tip for you so listen up......... make a fairly deep cut when deburring the neck on the inside, not overly deep but enough that a boat tail bullet will rest nicely down when sitting on the case this improves the seating concentricity now when you have the bullet seated about 1/2 way in back of the ram a little and rotate the bullet through about 180 degrees, this will also improve the concentrity thus the bullets will be more accurate, seat the primers with the same pressure each time also, use the same movements, when doing each part of the reloading process, this will help tighten the groups slightly better, snap.
