old dog 210 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Share Posted January 14, 2009 Wasn't the best of days today rain and wind, hounds hunted the first couple of furry friends good, boys shooting a couple in the morning,but as the day carried on the scent started fading,we went and hunted a piece of cover we haven't done for a long time a big gorse bowl,hounds were in full cry as soon as they entered the cover, hunting down through the middle, turning right handed and heading back up to the top hedgeline,hounds were in good cry i knew they were not far behind him,i could hear the boys shouting hounds on,not known to me until later the hounds were coursing their friend down the field just missing him going back into the cover,they hunted him for a good 20 minutes after going round and round eventually losing the scent,there was a quiet spell then a couple of hounds started to call,they were marking two holes on the side of the bank,tried the terrier but he didn't want to know it,bar'd around the holes just incase the hounds had blocked them when digging but nothing,he a hell of a terrier and i have no reason to disbeleive him,that's all i can say is it's happens.
