Im sure some will remember this guy. I was bold in the past and my own insecurity made me make up he was a proven earth dog. The truth is I was full of shite and only did it in an attempt to fit in here and be accepted. I only made a fool of myself :icon_redface: . I have realized since that it is always better to be 100% honest and I have found that this way people are willing to help you. Anyway I am truthful this time round. I havent made up stuff to try fit in , I simply Tell it how it is and this way its much better for me. I would ask that you wont be too severe on me as it has taken me a while to muster up the courage to come clean as i like the site so much and value my part in it. What I am trying to say is that bullrussell is dead and burried and I hope you will allow me to be countryboyo. I have decided i would come clear now as I feel i have proven I am a good lad at this stage, which was the least I could do. I could easily have hid it and said nothing but I dont want any suspician about me at all from fellow members. I hope you all as well as admin and mods accept me back into the forum with my new approach.

I would like to appologise for my behaviour in the past, It was simply out of fear of not being accepted. I will be pm a mod and I hope he wont be too severe on me. Thanks lads

yes i rember your post on this dog bullrusell we dont need bullshitter's and story tellers on this forum you would get no help from me mate

stop posting your shit on here bud

Ok lad sorry for that I assure you I have been completely honest over the past three montns since I became countryboyo. And my lies while I was BR was only out of fear I wouldnt be excepeted as people kept asking why I wasnt posting pictures and what did I know about hunting. And I thought If i said that all my terrier has done is bushing to greyhounds that ther terrier and lurcher lads would tear me to pieces. I have learned my lesson and realize that honesty is the best policy. I could easily have kept quiet about this but I want to be 100% honest.

Save your money you dont need a collar if that dogs coming out after 30 mins thats a waste of time..

If you were serious about digging you would not be trying a 5 year old bushing dog that jacks you would get something bred out of workers.

JMHO.

You think it would be a waste of time trying him out so? Like ive vever encouraged him to go to ground and ive actually spent the time that hes gone to ground calling him out. I dont know maybe your right and I shouldnt bother. Its just im stuck at the moment in deciding whether to get ferrets and a locator, a lurcher (more than likely a whippet cross) or else a good terrier and locator. But id want to go out for a dig or two with some experienced chap before I decide.

youre better to go out yourself.then theres no pressure on you or your dog.just let the dog find its own way,it might not stay the first few times anyway.pointless going out with someone till you know the dogs a stayer anyway.I havent had dogs for years but used to keep jacks.I started out going out with an uncle who had lakies and patterdales that would just close with the fox and by the time youd dug down that was that.My dogs were more bayers and bolters ,but I always felt like the pressure was on for my dogs to do the business but at the end of the day there totally different types of dogs.what im trying to say is you would be better finding your own way with this ,the whole scene when I was involved was very paranoid (for good reason too) if you work your dogs you will start to meet like minded individuals in the field ,you can just tell when you walk past someone who works their dogs compared to a pet jack out for a walk.it will all come good if you really want to work your dog.I used to live in glasgow thats where I had the jacks but moved to kerry last year, picking up a jack pup next week ,dont know where that will lead but found this site while browsing the web and thought Id have a look for the craic.good luck anyway.

Nice one thanks for the responce. Where in kerry are you ? Im on the banks of the shannon myself. The main thing im worried about digging myself is that i would collapse the earth in on top of the dog or dig in on top of him with the shovel and injure him. Also i dont want to splash out on a locator until I know he can do a job.

The best hunt shop in Kerry is in listowel. Halpins its called

whitser, you are in to the digging and from your view and mine your right, but the lads never seen it himself, he might say sod this if the dog gets a hiding from its game.

Ya i wouldnt go buying a locator for 200 Euro if the dog is no good. If he is no good I would probably do for a new lurcher rather than buy a new terrier and new locator. Also I just wouldnt risk digging on top of the dog with no experience. I will see if my uncle has a few earths but i would think he would be against it just by his personality. For example he was doing awful giving out when I first got my staffy bitch, giving out about the breed saying they are dangerous b**t**ds. And he wonders why i gave him the nickname "Safety". Im confident that some fellow munster man will take me out. Thanks again lads.

why not buy the collar? if the dogs shxt you'll still have the collar. you can use it on your new pup from good working stock that you can buy.if your not going to look for a decent pup and get serious about it then dont waste your time at all even thinking about getting started. because its takes a long time to leaarn the trade and you'll ruin a few terriers before you have a decent one.

I do intend to get into digging but Im fairly broke at the moment to be honest and my way of thinking at the moment is that I want a lurcher and a good terrier but I cant afford both at the moment. My first choice would be to get a lurcher first and then when I have the money get a good terrier. But if I gave my present terrier a go and he turned out good then I would be willing to put the lurcher on hold and get the locator collar. I know chances are that he will be no good but i just want to give him a chance so I can rule it out and put it to rest. Its just the fact that he breaks my balls everytime I go out he ends up going to ground which pisses me off because i spend ages with my head at the entrance of the earth roaring at him to come out and the F***er below barking his head off. No harm in giving him a go anyway if someone will take me out.
