The one 8,592
Same here we where having a great season number wise so we went a bit crazy lamping and ferreting probably doubled our best score but we are suffering now can hardly get a rabbit last six times out lamping /ferreting were averaging four a outing Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
why is it when i work my ferrets, if there is nothing in the set even if its 8-10 holes its in there for no longer than a few minutes, because although the holes are joined. its like a maze underground with stop ends and all sorts so could it be my ferret is just following the one path and not turning off at any of the exits if you want to say it like that... cheers jazz Quote Link to post
The one 8,592
Firstly you take it a experienced working ferret knows when there's nothing at home Secondly is your ferret young its maybe no going deep enough and checking out the warren properly Its a myth that all ferrets work some are much better than others and unless you check the burrow with another ferret you will never know Quote Link to post
para1 11
An other way to test your ferret is to have a reliable marking dog in my opinion worth their weight in gold. P1 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
All ferrets work, only thing thats different about good workers is the amount of experience they have over those that dont get any. Quote Link to post
