Yes i did intend to have 30 odd purse nets but then the guy i orderd them off hurt himself and then he had only made 10 so he offerd me the 25yard long net... so i got 10 nylon purse nets and a 25 yard long net,...

I'll send you some purse nets then, just what I can spare. Now that Ive learned how to make them its been like net mania here!!

every rabbiting opportunity is different!

I have a 100 yard longnet and a few stop nets (short nets for gates and cutting through hedges) when i got bought the longnet i used it pretty exclusively ( i also have 100 pursenets) and to be honest lots of situations can be done with longnets......i have done hedges, open warrens and ditches with mine! but to be honest i have switched back to using the pursenets more and more at the moment....but thats mainly due to having more land now with smaller warrens on them......i can run the longnet out though quicker than i can set 30 pursenets ....its on larger warrens that they come into there own and on large warrens in the open or in small copses they are excellent and as otehrs have said you dont disturb teh warren at all until the ferrets arrive thus you get better bolts!

Worth having and can be used in lots of situations

I would recommend the traditional setting of longnet's, using end pins and hazel wands ....i find it more flexible than quikset systems..........

good luck

hi how did you get your web site its good that

I built a long net after joining the site a couple of months back and seeing everyone using them, I used the guide on the site thats pinned and it was a good help, several people on the site also advised me and helped a lot, stubby etc - I found it a breeze to use and even took rabbits with it on the first setting, It was all the more satisfying having made it myself.

For me though, the real joy of using a longnet is when a rabbit bolts from a scoot hole Ive missed with a purse net....He's going like the clappers thinking he's got away until........He buckles in the longnet...... :feck:
