whin 463 Posted January 1, 2009 Report Share Posted January 1, 2009 colli cross and my saluks you can run them any were on qaurry wherever but saw alot that were not suited to run any were its the way you enter them and the way they are bred ,got a saluk i could take any were and some that you wouldnt all depends how much thye have been out plus one to one hunting no pack hunt s to jee them up,in general saluks have good feet but saw alot i would fech up ,feet is one of the most important things i look at as i run alot at times any were at times so feet is important cant stand small whippety fine lurchers who would break down with constant graft ,or dogs who go lame after a hard nite on the stubbles or stony land , Quote Link to post

Yeah i strongly agree with you there a good mate of mine has a collie/grey and its too fast its always coming back lame, see that would pee me off my dog is fast but he no's when to use his speed and when to use his head which i think is vital for what i ask from a dog Quote Link to post

bill88 6 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Share Posted January 2, 2009 From my own experience smaller lurchers seem to suffer less foot/toe problems,whether this is to do with them being smaller and lighter or whether they do actually have good feet ive no idea but having said all this my brother had a whippet/grey bitch who was constantly damaging her front feet.He got the bitch from some travellers when it was about 18 months old and maybe it was ruined before he got it?
