Cobra,

Happy New Year to you also mate :)

The question of what pellet to use for your rifle can only be answered by you, really?

It is just a case of you experimenting with a few sample packs of pellets, and finding out as a result what pellet your particular rifle performs best with. Now, having said that of course, you will find out that although many people own an AA S410, not all of those owners will be able to use the same brand of pellet in those S410's.

This is because although most S410's have the same size barrel, they may not ( A ) all have the same make of barrel, and ( B ) some barrel makes may be more 'pellet fussy' than others - if that makes sense so far?

Take my air rifle for instance - an AA S310, in .177 calibre, running at just below legal limit, and which has a barrel made by Walther.

Over a period of time, i have found that my rifle will happily chug along on only four pellet types -

- RWS SuperDomes

- RWS Hollow points

- Eley wasps

- Crosman PowaPells, semi pointed (or bullet tip, if you prefer).

All other pellet makes tend to give my air rifle severe indigestion - pellets stick in the barrel, accuracy suffers on those pellets that make it out of the barrel, and the power of the shot is all over the place - not very good at all when all you want is accuracy and shot consistency.

Like i say, try and get yourself a few pellet sample packs and just sit there experimenting, and you will soon arrive at a set of results which will tell you what pellet is best for YOUR rifle.

Regards,

Grim.
