clubshot 22
Check out your Local Air Gun Club And see what others are using and Why Totally Different a Break Action / Springer and Precharge Air Gun Yes you have to have a Air source / Own bottle of Access to a Friends We have many @ Lea Valley that started with a Springer Brought a Precharge and after a while returned to a Springer As reported Precharges was Boring.......... Multi Shots does come in Handy - On live Shoots Especially the likes of the Phoenix or Fast Fire Ten , where you do not have to take them out of the Shoulder for the Second Shot www.phoenixairguns.co.uk BOB/R Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
i can see how it could be boring but that could be good because it means i dont have to buy pellets every day! do you have to zero it often or do they stay because of the lack of kick. also do they need cleaning often. how often do they need re filling? do they leak is it easy to tune for when i want a firearms licence? [bANNED TEXT] so multi shots are good so i would get one of them. Quote Link to post

Guest air gunner
The other thing is in genral do pcp rifle seals get ruined easily? Are the guns in general really high maintenance compared to a springer? the only issue i can see right now is the cost of the gun and the air bottle. Quote Link to post
Halfinch 51
you don't have to have an air bottle, you can use a stirrup pump, They are almost mainenance free, very rarely need re zeroing if they arn't knocked about, and once you get one i doubt you'll go back to a springer. Try as many as you can. because what suits one person may not suit another. Then buy the HW100. Excellent rifle. imho Quote Link to post
clubshot 22
Boring in the Sense - with the right Outfit and Practise is can be hard to miss Where with a Break Action - You may never be sure what it's going to do on being Fired BOB/R Quote Link to post

celticwar 1
Hmmm pcps sound great if i want big bags of game but i think i will wait untill im efficient with my springer. i had a lightining years ago i had plenty money at the time to get a pcp but my friends at the time had springers .. boy did i make a mistake i past my mechanic grades started working for a garage met a guy with a pcp we went hunting in to diff fields met up at dinner i had 3 rabbits was chuffed he empted his ruck sack 6 fell out + 2 in his hand i could not beleve it ,the next week we swoped fields and yep he beat me again ... in the end he said try my rifle we went out together i got 5 rabbits on my own shoot then it dawned on me more silent hardly any kick to handle ..multi shots rabbits 100 yards away stay there instead of running when i fired my springer ... so now ive got an s10 bull barrel carbine .22 hunting with it is great .. should of saved some money and got it back then ........ Guest hyperion
The other thing is in genral do pcp rifle seals get ruined easily? Are the guns in general really high maintenance compared to a springer? the only issue i can see right now is the cost of the gun and the air bottle. the greatest enemy of any air gun pcp or spring is lack of care! you can ruin a springer just as easy as a pcp!, the only difference imo is the type of care/maintainance for the two different systems and the cost! the most important thing with a pcp is keeping your charging gear clean and free from dust and grit! as clubshot said multi shots are the way to go if your doing rats ect, just having eight or ten shots as and when you need them is great! ive got a parker and hale phoenix and its an awesome bit of kit but it comes at a price! end of the day the best thing to do is get down to your local club and or gun shop and talk to as many people and try as many different guns as you can! cheers hyperion Quote Link to post
