Guest Rod&dog
Does anyone else,,Cover holes with a light soil,,easy to dig open agian after theyve ferreted a burrow,,So as next time they go to ferret it they can see if anythings been in and out since the last time it was worked? Got told to do that when i started ferreting but never heard of anyone doing it. But i suppose if you have a reliable marking dog,,You should not need to do it,,Just an idea if you dont have a marking dog. Quote Link to post

The one 8,593
Some places ask to get the holes filled in but when you say it would cost a pound a hole they soon forget it Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
The only time I fill holes is to see if there's anything at home, what I do a few days before I ferret a warren is throw a spade full of soil into the main runs, then go back the next day and see if the rabbits have dug it back out, also tells you if any other hole dwellers are about by the footprints they leave.
