day out yesterday

managed to get out again yesterday with my dad and my two friends. had been looking forward to it for a while and had managed to get an order for sixteen rabbits. so arrived at ground about 845am did not see any rabbits, but that is not unusual on my ground. decided to do a little wood just off the road that had looked good plenty of signs of rabbits at the end of last season. set up a nine holer with no return. then did a forty holer which produced two one bolter and one dug out with new micro spade from screwfix (worked well and good for clearing soil from hole). my dad and two friends appeared with only my dad with one rabbit.

decided to go to the other side of the road and try some bigger warrens that had produced well last season. after doing two off them one of which was over a hundred holes we got another three rabbits two bolters and one dig. a much harder dig this time due to heavy frost ground was solid for first 8 inches. also had another dig but could not reach the rabbit just got ferret out and packed up. time was 2pm. hard work for six rabbits.

now i have to phone guy that wanted sixteen to give him the bad news

Six is good, I only took four from a long bit of hedge that I thought look very promising.

We did the same on saturday ferreting a old railway line minus 3 and we where in the shade of the banking all day and we picked up six rabbits
