andy s410c 63 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Share Posted November 30, 2008 Well managed to get my ferreting pal to come out after laying it on the line a bit.... .Anyway arrived at the top quarry for 8am,car showing -5c but bright sunshine & no wind.We started off a couple of small sets,no one at home but we seen plenty in the quarry corner running into some of the sets we would work on the other bank . On the way to the far bank Steve netted up a 15+ holer on the west side & i ran the quickset around a same size set in the quarry bottom,had 1 out of each set .Over on the far quarry wall we netted up a tightly grouped 15 or so holer & bagged 1 from there with the small jill. We clambered our way to the top of the far bank & i ran the quickset around a large area of holes while Steve placed a few purse nets around the place,we gave things time to settle & put the 3 ferts in.Both the jills bolted 1 each,then it went quite....the hob & adult jill came out but no sign of the small one After 30+ mins i got the magic box out,showing a 6ft reading I put the hob back in & after a few mins they both came out just as was going to pick the small jill up,back in she scarped :headshot:: I put the other jill in straight away but she came out after 10 mins all matted up so nothing else for it,the spade Got to about 3ft & out she comes,black as coal& matted up to the eyeballs backfilled the hole, now it was 1:30pm so we decided to do one more set further along the bank.We netted up a few holes & ran the qs around best i could through the trees & fallen branches We only bagged the 1 from there but due to awkward setting of the qs we had 1 escape & 3 sneak off due to me not thinking about what i was doing with qs but i will get better with each outing..hopefully.Anyway ended the day with 6 & i was glad of the helping hands .
