Rhodey 96
What a day it's been, heavy fog freezing cold the birds wouldn't get up high enough, fields were water logged and the ploughed fields were even worse. So all in all a good day had better than sitting in watching telly. Anyone else been out today?

harrycatcat 31
No 223 pheasant !!! That sounds like one hellover shoot, I bet it is a really good experience, ours is a small syndicate and we only put down 450 birds in TOTAL.
whippeter69 88
The keeper put down something like 5000 birds i think but it is only the 3 shoot so there a lot of birds about and there were some good shots today, a guy with a 28bore S/S was just dropping every bird he shot at Edited November 29, 2008 by whippeter69

maty j 6
223 birds Isn't alot of birds IMO. Where I beat they have 400-500 bird days some times although on average It's 200-300. I took the dog for a quick walk evening time just before dark and It was great to be alive and out . Everything still frosted over, couldn't see further than 40 yds with the fog. Just a shame the darkness came down and I had to head home.
SportingShooter 0
I went lamping last night and as soon as I got there?? The fog came down thick, I couldn't see 50ft in front of me. Good job I knew the ground. Went out today, still freezing fog as thick as you like, and the irony? I shot a fox! But the Pheasants wouldn't rise in the fog at first, and finally it burnt off to a degree. Ended up with 50 odd in the bag, Two Woodcock, A fox and Squirrel. Not many missed, must be said. I couldn't get the cartridges in fast enough at one point, a 10 bird flush, I shot four, two left and rights, and had to let the others go back, I could have done with two guns!
