Brimmer 220
Scabbed another day of work yesterday at the last minute, phoned the old feller to see if he wanted to go out as the forecast was good. Decided to try some land we had not been on for a while in the south lakes area. We took the young dogs to continue there education, they seem to have got the hunting up bit in cover sussed now, the running is cracking to watch, but the marking still needed work, covering the ground a bit too fast and missing marks, than having to drag them back to the holes, and eventually then they mark. It was ideal today, lots of warrens (not big) scattered over an area about 10 acres. They took a little holding back, still wanting to hunt up, and cover ground, but the more we ferreted the more interested they became, and found more and more marks. Saw the dogs progress and move forward a long way today. Took 4 ferrets, (all hobs) 2 young, 2 old, the young hobs are coming on good, the older one's in an unstoppable mood at the minute. (lots of digs!) A decnt day out! Quote Link to post
