FAC theoben eliminator. Please help

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I have recently got my fac license and am just deciding which rifle to get. Originally I wanted to get an theoben eliminator due to its reputation as the ultimate springer. However since speaking to almost every gun shop in the country every single one has put me off getting one and advised getting a daystate or rapid. I really wanted to get the eli but feel I should go with the experts advice. So I am hoping someone on here will say the opposite and tell me what a superb rifle it is and that they are talking rubbish as I really don't want to get a pcp. It would be in .22 also and the piece of land I shoot on is 150 acres. Please help

I had an Eliminator HE .22 a few years ago and what a rifle it was. If you get one you will hate it at first as you will not be able to hit a barn door with the and it will rattle your fillings when you fire it. You will also notice that your arms and joints hurt after a few shots due to the cocking effort and fifty shots will finish you off for the day. I had to wedge the butt under my thigh to cock it and ended up with a huge bruise After a couple of weeks I found I could shoot it straight and cock it and what a tool it became when I found my accuracy, I would regularly take hares and bunnies at up to 70 yards.

My Eliminator emptied itself of air for no reason once but Theoben sorted it straight away under warranty. The choice is your my friend. If it was me I would go for the PCP option every time or build myself a rifle.

Cheers

Jon
