Out on my weekly trip, (Wish i could do it every day, bloody work!) to babysit the old fella, and generally dig, carry and obey orders whilst he bumbles around!

He'd been out with one of his old mates midweek, and nailed 53 bunnies on the 'Easy ground'. Pair of 70 yr olds!

I only get to play on the difficult stuff!

We decided to do a 10 acre piece we call the plantation, english nature planted it up around 5 yrs ago, and never has any stock on it so the grass is now very high.

It's good cover for bunnies to sit tight in there seats, but hard work for the dogs in pusuit cause of all the trees and guards.

The pups took a bit to settle down, but then really got there noses down to it!

We had around 23 bunnies by 11.30am, mostly seat work with a few great to watch runs, and a bit of ferreting.

I told the old man we needed more than he got midweek, cannot have the old buggers beating a younger man!

We carried on after a break and got on to more ferreting, bumping up the numbers, and some great catches with the pups.

It was now time to hit a decent sized warren, probs 40 -50 holes with a good few marks around the place, the old man wanted to just bang the ferrets in, i went and got the long net and old dog instead! (sure he knew we were catching up his midweek total!)

The pups at this point showed there lack of experience by ending up in the longnet behid every rabbit! :whistling:

They were soon put on a lead, with just the old dog driving them into the net, and catching any that ran uphill away from it!

The end total, was 51, the old bugger had got more midweek, no wonder he wanted to go home at 3 oclock!

Old bugger!
