SNAP SHOT 194
Well i hadn't planed on going out but with the ammount of phone calls i've been getting at work i had to make a move and that was last night, but my lamping partner could only manage an hour as his girlfriend is only after having a baby, SO with her permission, We headed of to were the problem area was, we stopped the jeep to lamp a problem field and three foxes were not 50 yards of us and bolted into the woods...... So we drove around the far side of the wood got out lamped and nothing put the caller on for 5 mins and foxy came in like a rain out of the wood i had to shout at 60 yards to get him to stop, then BOOM as the report went out into the clear night sky.....1 in the bag. We drove about a mile away seeing lots but no safe shots, So never made them wise to the lamp, Then we spoted a long ranger snooping in the fields, gently taking the lamp up behind him i ranged him at 381 yards but with the rushes and what not i had to track him as he worked his way over the field, We drove slightly ahead of him, and stopped set up to shoot across a feww small streams and a valley, final range 387 yards settled the crosshairs on foxy and waited till he put his head down, BOOM Well we only had an hour and two foxes in the bag, so not a bad evening by all standards...... had to leave foxy for my friend to pick up today as we couldn't cross the streams with all the rain lately.........Thats 4 now in total this year.....so roll on winter is all i can say.............. Mr_Logic 5
387 yards? Cracking shot mate in terms of making a shot that far out, I take it you dial in adjustments rather than aim off? So... what scope? I want to extend the range, not getting much over 200 at the moment. Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
Blimey! That thing looks enormous! I think it would swamp my little CZ. Might have to stick to something a little more simple on that one. Now, the 243 might be different ;-) Quote Link to post
