Lewdan 17
Heard only yesterday that bullets ( heads ) are no longer required to be entered on certificate unless requested, and that primers now legally HAVE to be put on ticket, is this fact?? any views Does this mean you can now have heads delivered direct without showing your ticket?? riohog 5,939
you have to be able to prove you are allowed to use and aquire expanding amunition (heads missiles) Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
As Riohog said, if you want to acquire Expanding Bullet heads then you need to show your FAC which stipulates that you are allowed to have them, all FAC's which have Vermin/Fox/Deer on them will also have an Expanding Ammunition condition. If you plan to reload non-expanding ammo i.e. Full Metal Jacket heads then you can order them, some companies will send them, others wont. As a result of I think the CROW Act, you now have to show your FAC if you want to buy RIFLE primers, shotgun primers are exempt still. None of the above need to be entered on your FAC, only that your FAC is shown when purchasing them. Regards SS Quote Link to post

Regards SS Thanks SS, i understand what you are saying, but is there a legal requirement that the qty of exp ammo ( heads ) purchased needs to be entered on to your ticket? obviously you cannot purchase more than is stated, but if they are not recorded on your certificate, how can we prove to the firearms dept that the firearm is used and still required for a specific purpose ie hunting, i have heard from various shooters that when they have a visit regarding renewal of certificate, comments have been made by the fao regarding the lack of ammunition entries on the ticket, which then leads them to ask is the weapon required?? Am i concerned over nothing Thanks again. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Your FAC could say you can posses 50 rounds, but you could buy 50,000 bullet heads!! The only thing that the number on your FAC means is the number of completed rounds you can possess, i.e. Case, Primer, Powder and Head. You dont need the heads entered on your FAC, expanding or otherwise. Entering ammo on the ticket is a different matter, if you fire one round in five years then you have used the rifle for its purpose, end of. You can only purchase the heads you need such as .224 heads and not .308 etc, and you have to show your FAC to buy primers, but thats about it. SS Quote Link to post
