After you send off your money and form it can take up to six weeks for the firearms officer to contact you for a meeting to check you out and see your cabinet if he is happy you get your certificate in a matter of days.

I think FLATTOP has said it all.

You can "try" and hurry them up by phoning them but this might be seen as you been

a pain in the ass so they might put your application at the bottom of the pile. :(

Sometimes its better to wait ! to be impatient can p1ss them off.....................

Lifted from Thames Valley Police Website:_

Q: How long does it take to process firearm/shotgun certificates?

A: Where there is no concern for the public safety and the applicant fulfills all legislative criteria, provided the applicant::

completes the application form honestly and accurately

sends four photographs of the correct size

signs one himself

has one signed by the countersignatory or referee

sends a cheque for the correct amount

payable to Thames Valley Police

has the two referees return their forms.

Thames Valley Police will endeavour to process your application within the following times, from date of receipt:

grant, renewal or variation of a firearm certificate with 60 working days

grant or renewal of a shot gun certificate within 60 working days

change of address within 30 working days

issue a European Firearms Pass within 20 working days

issue a temporary permit within 20 working days

NOTE it refers to Working days so 60 means 3 months, also note the use of the phrase will endeavour to process your application within the following times :hmm::hmm:
