The 400 is a fine gun but I don't understand the thinking (other than money..so save up a bit longer) behind anyone buying a PCP (for hunting) and getting a single shot :hmm: ...you need a multishot so get the 410!

I would not entertain a single shot these days and I suspect you would get the same response from any multishot owner!

Just my opinion of course!!

No Deker, it isn't only your opinion bud, it's mine too - I agree with you there!

Ian mate, for the sake of example, lets assume you go for what is (at the point of shot release) a perfect head shot, but the bunny moves just a whisker after the shot leaves the barrel. You end up wounding it, and then need a quick follow up shot as a coupe de grace . . . . . if you have a multi shot pcp - then no problems here.

But, on the other hand, if you have a single shot pcp, then you have to re-lood manually and so the unfortunate animal is suffering where not necessarilly needed, like?

You would be much better off getting a multi shot pcp as opposed to a single shot one straight off from the start bud.

Regards,

Grim.

i disagree mate, i have had a variety of multishots but the gun i always ended up taking out is my trusty out FN19 hence i sold the rest and just stick to that one. i think its all about what you are confident in, it may also be to do with the calibre as my falcon is .20 and the others were in .22

There is absolutely nothing wrong with hunting with a single shot imo

Steady on...we all have an opinion based on our experiences.... and I have the FN19RS multi shot...I love it but it is nowhere near as well made a gun as the AA410..even though they both come out of the same building...but I still couldn't ever consider buying a single shot again for what I use it for!!

lovely i had one last year more geared towards the field target hunter being a single shot, so if you want it for hunting i would go for the s200 with mag conversion (works out the same price as a s400) or save for the s410 as said previously, also as said previous you can by a mag for the s400 from rowan engineering but these mags are not self indexing like the s200 or s410. your choice either of them extremely accurate and light. ps indexing incase you dont know is self rotating on pulling the action/reloading.

Sorry Deker, i wasnt having a pop. i just think that it must be a bit off putting for people if they think its only possible to hunt with a multishot pcp, i mean, it wasnt all that long ago when we were all shooting spring guns and still taking decent bags. Obviously its better to buy the best you can afford (unless must gun makers stop making guns in your chosen calibre :wallbash: ) but fieldcraft and accuracy are far more important than a quick second shot and he will only get that with practice and getting out there?
