wild rover 548
Ive been lamping a few times now (wouldnt really say im a "hunter" just tagged along on a few) and have heard many an argument on what is the best kind of lurcher. Im looking to get myself one so that i can go out on my own and catch what i want to, being a newbie to the whole thing i am asking all you keen fieldsports people, Whats the best cross? and why? Forgive my ignorance, im here to learn. My advice is to think why and what you want your lurcher for, horses for courses, ie; is a larger type suitable for ferreting and mooching can it twist and turn like a smaller breed, can a smaller breed provide the speed and power sometimes needed, medium sized can provide both, what about what you are looking for, brain, temperament, loyalty, trainability or just something to slip and chase.???? Take your time decide what you want and make the right choice for the right reasons, then you have a partner for years. Quote Link to post
