Ive been told mixy has been put down. does anyone know how long it takes for the dissease to go away? Or if there is anywhere i could go in the south wales area? Quote Link to post

archiekale 427 Posted March 14, 2006 Report Share Posted March 14, 2006 hi mate there is diffrent strains of mixie i have seen rabbits survive its like anything else the rabbits get imune if they didnt they would have been wiped out years ago a friend of mine went ferreting yesterday all young on now, 3 big uns all day just digging ferrets out all the time said thats him done for this season Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83 Posted March 15, 2006 Report Share Posted March 15, 2006 There isn't an actual 'season' as such...ie you won't be breaking the law if you ferret in the summer, but most people stop around mid-february - end or march time as thats when the rabbits are usually breeding. A good rule of thumb is to stop when you catch baby rabbits. I'm not stopping just yet, not seen any young 'uns round here yet, I'm gonna keep going to the end of the month at least!
