Andrew 0
Hi, Looking for advice/opinions....... About two months ago a mate took one of my jills into his care as she was getting bullied quite seriously by the rest of the group. She was kept on the same food etc and routine as she is when in my care. Since her return she is nothing short of hostile towards other ferrets( especially Alf and he`s a very easy going fella) and a real problem to handle. She`s not biting but she wont stop wriggling and trying to get away basically. She`s dropped weight and condition but appears to be eating/drinking normally. I`ve seperated her again from the other ferrets for their/her safety etc..... She is approx 7-8 years old and WAS always a gentle soul. I`m not new to ferrets/ferreting and i`ve seen my fair share of nasty/mental ferrets(not mine i might add!) but i`ve not seen one have such a serious charactor change as this! Any suggestion`s/advice would be gratefully recieved Regard`s Andy Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
Some ferrets just dont like being handled & dont like other ferrets, if she is destined to be anti social then let her be, if she has dropped condition already dont stress her any more, if she likes her own company leave her be & at 7 yrs old leave her to it She may just be fed up with being picked on by other ferrets Quote Link to post

Thank`s for the replies folk`s Andy I took in a very lovely jill some yrs ago & she wasnt a problem untill i tried to mix her after a weeks quaranteen , jesus she was evil, went for the throat of any ferret in sight, i would never have believed it if i hadnt seen it, each time i tried she just went in a terrible strop i had to get a broom to get between 2 of them scrapping & screeching Personally i would leave her to it, find her a nice safe place comfey bed & plenty of food, leave trying to handle her for a week or so , she may need to gain a little confidence again & she will need a secure safe place to do that , it knocks the spirit out of some ferrets when they have had a good kicking Quote Link to post

I`ll leave her to own devices for a week and see how it go`s, thank`s for the advice..... Andy Quote Link to post
