logman 0
My 2 year old bitch has never been trained to jump, any ideas on what to do to get her started now? Quote Link to post
lucky 578
with young dogs etc i usually start by letting them into the front garden (low fence and gate) with my other dogs and shut the gate, then i walk up the street away from them, all the other dogs clear the fence and follow me which the young dog will see. usually by the time i've got to the end of the street the pup has scrambled over and will be galloping towards me. i do this 2 or 3 times a day until the pup is clearing the fence with ease then i start the same routine in the back garden where the fence and gate are much higher and once it is clearing them with ease i start in the sheep fields with the netting and barbwire fences. i never help the pup over any fences no matter how much it whines, i just keep walking and it soon gets the hang of things. i know your bitch is 2 y/o but it's worth a try Quote Link to post
