Guest Eamon.Mc
So for all you start em youg fans, what would be the point in dragging a 3-4 month old youngster out into the fields on a freezing cold wet windy day to tie it out at a dig that may take 3-4 hours? How would this benefit a young pup? I'd just like to hear your thoughts. LANESRA DO YOU DO MUCH DIGGING? DO YOUS HAVE MANY FOXES IN THE ISLE OF MANN? Quote Link to post

dogs-n-natives 1,182
Great wee dog there, I keep cocker/terriers myself, cracking hunting dogs, I use mine mainly for pushing foxes out of cover. I used to train mine trailing up a scent trail when they were a similar age, but I was never keen to get them out into the field working until after 12 months, as they will soon get keen, and they do love to push themselves hard. Thats just my way, each to their own. Im sure the owner of this pup knows fine well what hes doing! Some of the posts on here are rediculous!! I hope it makes them a great wee hunter for him DnN Edited October 20, 2008 by dogs-n-natives Quote Link to post
