I'm thinking of buying 8x56 scope, I like s&b, but i'm so hesitant, there are many diferrence from s&b to swarovski or zeiss? whit your experience what is the best? sorry for my english... i'm from italy... and I don't have much opportunity to practice... If you can see the riticle then I struggle to see the need to illuminate it..day or night!! Only one of mine is illuminated...well I had to give it a try!!!! Brother has a Zeiss 7x50 with just the centre of the cross hairs illuminated and that's a great thing for early morning and late evening shooting without a lamp.
