lamp+battery 98
keep washin it in salt water to keep infection out mate. get a mate to hold its mouth just in case it bites you coz it might sting a bit other than that get some wound powder Quote Link to post
pikey2983 2
ok cheers mate what about putting a sock on his foot to keep it clean would that be ok Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,740
The Vet cannot put the lost nail back on,.. So,..I would simply keep the wound clean (by GENTLY bathing the foot with warm salty water on a regular basis)...and please bear in mind,..it fecking hurts like hell,.so do go careful... Your dog will hopefully grow another nail,..but,..it will take several months.. However,.you can still run the dog as soon as the wound has healed,.. and a small hard, 'start of a nail' become evident. Personaly,..I never try to cover this type of wound... All the best,.CHALKWARREN... Quote Link to post

lamp+battery 98
yer but have you cleaned it since you got back with him coz there could be a bit crap in it. clean it out and put some wound power on it and then put a sock on it till you get to the vet`s my mate went out with his deerhound x whippet 9 month old took 3 out ov 3 bunnies and then seen 1 sittin so walked over and sliped the dog it wasent a bunnie it was a long ear. any way she caught it and when she grabbed it she snaped her frount leg so my mate is gutted carnt do any thing about it vet told him that it will never work again Quote Link to post

moseley 16
just keep the wound clean with salt and water rap the dogs mouth up because they will snap at ya and do not put a sock over her foot as tends to keep her foot warm and heat is not good for infection it loves the heat just wash it keep it clean and be carefull the dog dont take a peace of you all the best Quote Link to post
