im looking at uying a cheap light/lamp for shooting rabbits at 40 yards max and i was wondering if anyone has or used a gamo vampir light an lazer kit

(im just looking the light and lazer not the gun)

i just want to se what other peoples views are before i think abought buying it

Not used it but if you're shooting a springer be careful with the laser. The recoil of the spring rifles is renown for knocking the zero out. I don't know whether the technology has improved, and this is no longer a problem but lasers are better suited to PCP's.

 

I'd love to here any reviews about this lamp, as Tracer seemed to have the market sewn up.

if its mouted with good brackets on a scope recoil shouldnt be a problem

Agreed it shouldn't but the old mounting brackets and vagueness of the laser made it impossible to keep zeroed. I spent countless hours trying on a Webley Stingray, BSA Lightning, HW77, HW97 and a TX200! While the PCP's were relatively trouble free the springers knocked the zero out in as little as 4 shots. These will never be a substitute for decent optics, IMHO.

 

If the technology has improved then I could well be wrong but from my personal experience laser sighting is nothing more than an expensive gimmick. I can only go on what I've experienced and the testimony of others. I'd hate to see someone go in and purchase these things only to be out of pocket and really disappointed.

The only thing that is good with that laser is the bracket that holds it on. The laser is a 1mw piece of junk and extremely overpriced DON'T BUY IT!! not to mention the divergance is disgraceful ie the laser dot will be a football size at 30 yards

it dont look bad to be fair i would use it. they laser my go off zero thow but it looks good

I didnt think recoil affected lazers as bad as you lot make out

in movies and stuff they have them on 50 cals and m5s

Like I said in my previous post the Gamo laser is junk mate and as for laser light if you get a decent laser then you'll find the beam will travel for miles.... Here's what I mean below...

Timelord has already answered your question, he's already told you the dot will be the size of a football at 30 yards. What good is that?
