Had my visit 2 weeks ago but the local force has a back log of certs to issue so it could still be a couple more weeks (it could however be today!) Are you saying you've sent it off already with that section not filled in? - they may just send it back and get you to complete it. If you have sent land letters with the application then they might take the info from them. Ring your firearms department and ask if it's being processed or being returned? Quote Link to post

Yes you do have to fill that part in to prove that you have land which you will be able to shoot on,then the fire arms officer will check that land out to see if it is suitable.Try and give him as many land permision forms as possible just incase any of them get refused. And seen as its a HMR you're going for its not going to be targets. That Section is Vital. You simply wont get it without it done. Regards SS got all the accessories and the cabinet very cheap, also got a deposit on a cz 452 hmr as in 2weeks they go up by £30-£60. i will get land surely, i'm surrounded by fields and woods!! You either need land to shoot on or become a member of a rifle club. You could always try to convince them you are a collector but I think you would be struggling with this option ! The deal i got on the rifle and kit was undeatable, bigtime!, so done things arse about face, but its all got a deposit on it and will wait at the shop for me to get a FAC thanks Quote Link to post

hotel2zero 0 Posted September 16, 2008 Author Report Share Posted September 16, 2008 I havn't sent it off yet, still looking for land to shoot on, would love to have a few different permissions but cant find a single one as yet!!!!will keep looking and asking! thanks guys am going for a drive around today, going to ask in person any farmer i see in a farmyard! from reading both topics you have running, it sounds like upto this point you'vre wanted your fac handed to you on a plate no more need to wonder now, got 430 acres with full permission to shoot with air rifles, .17hmr, .22lr and 223. the farmer completed my FAC application for meand also added a covering letter. the police have already visited his land and ok'ed it for someone else a few months ago so now there shouldn't be anything stopping me holding a FAC. also got another farmer with a 40 acre field to also put in a covering letter giving me permission to shoot, so one of the two should be cleared. why do you say 'i expect my FAC to be handed to me on a plate?' -NOT being funny, just would like to know if i've said something thats all... The situation with all the gear and no permission was my problem and I shouldn't have let it come across as a brag! i got a blinding deal on the rifle, scope,bi-pod,ammo etc and just wanted to get it all home and start using it. Thankfully i have land now and will soon have a FAC. Thank you to everyone who has advised me and guided me through obtaining a FAC. Will soon be posting pictures and once i have some experience under my belt i can help other new-comers Quote Link to post
