one of my jills fur is thining out on her head and neck also on her tummy really bad .is she moulting ive checked her over for mites etc i have noticed shes gone abit boney though shes eating ok and still lively .the other 3 shes housed with are ok no hair loss watsoever just wondering whats wrong with her

I once read that egg's cause hair loss in ferrets maybe its that if you feed your ferret on eggs

Your ferret is just moulting mate.Look at the birds magpies,pheasants all very untidy at the moment IT's that time of year.

one of my jills does the same every year, moults her summer coat before the winter coat grows ! dunno why, the other two jils moult as the new one grows, she goes almost bald for a few days then a week later the new coat is grown, i wouldn't worry too much, if i work her when she's moulting, she normally comes out with no fur on her belly, back and top of the head, must be where she rubs on the tunnels i suppose, quite funny to look at
