Hi people,

 

am looking at buying a CZ .17 HMR 16'' barrel, heavey barrel.

 

any views on if this is a good gun.

 

will beusing it for pest control, small pest's.

I hear it'll do 2550fps and is good upto 200yrds??

I have the same gun.

 

200 yards is no problem whatsoever for the HMR. My personal furthest is 215yards but it will go further.

 

2550 is about right with a few feet difference either way.

 

I cant fault the gun, it outshoots me. If I were you, I would buy the Eric Brooks Trigger Kit, £8.50 from the US inc postage.

 

You'll not regret buying one

Been told that the heavy barrel deals with the heat better...? im blind here as i don't really know if this is the truth, can only trust gun dealers and your help on here!

rimfires dont really get hot like centrefires mate so i wouldnt worry about the heat. some people like the look better of the heavy barrel rifles.

 

some people like heavy barrel rifles more to as they perfer abit more weight. in 22lr i had the stand barrel

but if i was going for hmr i would get the heavy barrel not because its more accurate.

 

but i find if im shooting over longer distance the heavy barrel seams more steady. you wont go wrong with a cz rifle they have a soild build,never heard of a none accurate one ! and the bluing on them is better then most of the dear rifles !

 

there not the best selling rimfire in this country for nothing good luck with your buy atb jamie

Buy it....I have the same and it is great fun and a delight to shoot.... I use mine for bunnies and crows and the odd fox.....

New Silhouette and Style available in HMR with 16 or 22 inch Standard, not heavy barrel, I have the 22inch with a mod and its not as long as you may think, head shooting bunnies at 100 yards all day long and I have still not got it 100% zeroed!
