Guest Magwitch
The weather was pretty rubbish this morning but being extremist ferreter's me and Tony decided to brave the treacherous condition's and have a few hour's pugging. The farmer had already warned us there was plague and pestilence running riot in the orchard so a few digs were expected. The first bury was a small possibly twenty hole affair and surrounded by the long net we quickly accounted for five rabbits, two of which were showing the early stages of mixy. Moving on we found another small but well worked bury, managed another four out of this set but with a two foot dig to a maggot ridden corpse, a sign of things to come. Anyway the last bury we ferreted was a large spread out set over quite a few rows of pear trees, the long net wasn't long enough for this particular set so i laid it out best i could but had a gap of approximately thirty foot in one corner. Entered the three pugs and stood back, they were down a long time and only having the three it came quickly apparent they were getting the runabout from rabbits that just wouldn't bolt so we lifted them one by one and called it a day. Nine in the bag and a few pound of apples and pears. Quote Link to post
