Guest bigredbusa
my twin battery belt thing has given up the ghost , using a 1000000 cp lazerlite how long do you think it would last using a 12v 17ah battery? cheers
maty j 6
the drain is 4.1666666667 (V=I/R, 50w bulb in the lazerlite/12volts) or pritty similar give or take a few 6's so you will get about 4hrs constant lamp on time (17ah/4.16). Obviosly most arn't going to have it on constantly so It depends on each person how much actual "lamping time" you will have. HTH
maty j 6
And at the end of that 4hrs the battery will completely flat so about 3.8 hrs constant on time before the beam starts to weaken.
Guest bigredbusa
cheers maty, what size fuse should i make the inline ?
maty j 6
Personally I don't use a fuse in mine and have never had any problems. It's more connections that can and do go wrong but If you really want to put one in I'd imagine a 10W would do. That's what was in my nitestalker when I had it and although that takes or did have a 100W bulb in it, I think it would do. I chopped the fuse and cigarette connectors off right away and havn't had any problems. I'm sure there is another equation thing to work out what size fuse you need to give you adequate protection without it tripping all the time, Just can't remember the damn thing! Still for a lamp I don't think it's all that important, just carry a spare bulb in bubble wrap stuffed up the handle.
activeviii 8
I cant help with how long but if you want a cheapish one then Aldi have power packs in from time to time. i bought one, £24 and there 17Ah, open them up and take the battery out and if you just cut off the jack sockets and put crimps on then you can charge from the car and the house.
