ferretville 69 Posted August 11, 2008 Report Share Posted August 11, 2008 Well lads you know i told you about a bit of permission i got recently,well saw a chap up there and he sorted me out this little bit of shooting on a old orchard . Decided to have a wee look just after tea about 6.30 and there was`nt much going on so just had a wee wander around with me mate . There`s a holly hedge that runs around this place and the rabbits have setts in there and just hop in and out when they fancy a bit lunch lol. Lay down and waited to see if any rabbits would come out and after about half an hour the first one did. Me being the chap i am i offered first shot to me partner which he accepted most gratefully . It was propably about 30 to 35 yards away and was busy cleaning itself . Not for long crack clean head shot and down it went. Quarter of an hour must of passed and i heard a bit russle in the hedge directly in front of me and out pops another rabbit. I was roughly the same distance and let the the little bugger settle. A blackbird flew overhead and he just sat up head held high in that alert posture and that was it down it went sweet as a nut . Decided to call it a day as me and me mate were discussing that a bit hide cloth set up around one of the trees would be ideal to sit behind and pop the little rascals off. Perfect distance to lie in wait for them as we felt that they were probably sitting in the hedge line knowing or seeing us so thats the next step. But a good head of rabbits to go at and i think a bit dawn raiding is in order for this place. Just a few pics to give ya an idea of the place its all i managed as the battery on me phone was nearly out .
