byrney 2
I recently made a post saying that i had a few skeletons in my closet and wanted to know how you lot think i stood on getting my FAC air rifle and SGC. I was well advised and told to go for it, so i did. And i'm pleased to tell every one i was successful so thanks to all. On the subject of the FAC air rifle i've descided on the Theoben rapid, i have been on their website and at 30 ft/lbs you get 90 shots out of the 400 cc reservoir and at 50 ft/lbs i think its about 30 to 40. The question is can i set the gun up at home, and if not which is the best power to have it set at. Also what of range differences and shooting charachteristics will 30 and 50 ft/lbs give me. All advice welcome. Quote Link to post

martin1 0
well done, could you give me a pm on your skellingtons in the closit please as i have a few and i really want to apply. 30-50ft/ibs is not going to do much, have you been on the rapid7 forum? by having heavy ft/ibs dont mean you can shoot further,it will flatten the trajectory of a 22, my advise would be get 22 or 25, well you know when they back flip "bunnys",they do sumersalt and brake dance when you hit em with any thing over 20ft/ibs. i would say 30ft/ibs in 22cal or 25 with 25cal, and take good old charlie out if you can get within 20-30 yard or bunnys at around 70 ish. for a rapid you can also get a longer barrell to help with shot count and if i was you i would go for a regulated mfr,mk2,trg1-2 to also help with shot count, you could also consider the s-type or go for a daystate or stealth or career at 70ft/ibs but you still wil not gain more distance unless you get air bullets or real heavy pellets cuz they will be ok threw wind and more stable. personnely if you want 100yard pluss get a rimmy or go the full hog and get a centre fire remmy 700. give me a pm Edited July 21, 2008 by martin1 Quote Link to post
